garrett ecstacy
Here we have quite an old picture of former member of Blood on the Dancefloor Garrett Ecstacy. Whilst a fairly short style, Garrett has managed to uphold the ‘alternative’ look thanks to some clever hair dyeing and styling.
The colour choice is a scene favourite, black and blonde. No two colours stand out as much as these and to have two large blond patches either side of the head has been really effective for Garrett, especially as he has textured and spread out his hair. This has blended in the two bold colours to give it a slightly more subtle appearance. Not in the spirit of alternative I hear you say?? Don’t worry, Garrett has added a little splash of pink to the top of his hair where it spikes out giving a rebellious twist to what would otherwise be a fairly smart looking hairstyle.
If you want to try this style for yourself, use a gel spray on damp hair and blow-dry giving as much volume as possible. Then run straighteners through your hair, paying particular attention to the top where it should spike out towards the side. Spray on a little more gel spray and work into shape, then if necessary, use hairspray to hold.
Don’t forget to comment below!
I am a hairstylist, i really like this look, another way to achieve this with little effort would be to (once dry) use a molding clay or wax and direct the hair as shown above twisting the ends to create spikes and going over the hair afterward with the flat iron, also it is not as healthy for the hair to use a spray gel with the flat iron, unless it is thermal friendly, no matter what style you are wearing, if you are using a thermal hair straightener you should use a thermal or flat iron spray
